Georges Rouault’s book arrived in the mail yesterday. I found it at my door upon my return from a funeral mass for one of the city’s much loved clowns, a seafair clown. Everyone at the mass wore this green button. I was still wearing it when I turned the book over and found Rouault’s clown.
